Author Kiser-Mostrom to Appear as an Expert on Dr. Phil Show

New York, NY, February 17, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Kelly Kiser-Mostrom, author of The Cruelest Con: The Guide for a S.a.F.E. Adoption Journey, will appear as an expert on the popular Dr. Phil show. The two-part episode about adoption scams is scheduled to air Thursday, February 22 and Friday, February 23, 2007.

Kiser-Mostrom is a wife, mother and member of the American Adoption Congress who presents workshops about adoption nationwide. For nearly three years, she and her husband endured the nightmare of an adoption scam. She shares her heart-wrenching personal journey in The Cruelest Con, a guide intended to help others avoid the unscrupulous scams that can prey upon those exploring adoption. Kiser-Mostrom points out the chilling truth about adoption, including unregulated facilitators and inconsistent legislation from state-to-state.

“Unethical practices and adoption scams do not only happen to adoptive parents—expectant mothers, birth parents, adoptees and adoption professionals are also at risk,” Kiser-Mostrom said. “Educating yourself, knowing who you’re working with and thoroughly researching your options are imperative for an ethical and positive adoption experience.”

Kiser-Mostrom also maintains a free, nationwide adoption scam database (www.thecruelestcon.com) that supports victims of adoption fraud and assists law enforcement agencies in their prosecution efforts. The site also allows members of the adoption triad (birth parents, adoptive parents and adoptees) to report unethical practices or adoption scams.

The nationally syndicated Dr. Phil show features Dr. Phil McGraw, a man who encourages others to overcome negative behaviors and unfulfilling relationships to live happier lives. The one-hour series has broken ratings records for syndicated television programs since its launch in September 2002.
