Blanket America Gives Facebook Fans New Incentive to Buy Blankets with facebook.com/BlanketAmericaDeals

Blanket America has expanded its Facebook presence with a second page, created specifically to provide its fans with daily deals on blankets and other products.

New York, NY, May 12, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Charitable organization Blanket America has created a new Facebook fan page at www.facebook.com/BlanketAmericaDeals to supplement the company’s primary fan page at www.facebook.com/BlanketAmerica. The new page will focus on the deals and excellent prices Blanket America offers on blankets and other textiles, while the primary page will continue to concentrate on the company’s charitable work throughout the country.

"While our great deals and charity work go hand in hand, we know that many people see Blanket America as a just a charitable manufacturer, or just a place to buy discounted textiles. Operating two Facebook pages will allow us to divide our updates and promotions, so fans interested in charity hear about charity, and fans hunting for deals hear about deals. But no matter a shopper’s motivation, Blanket America will continue to donate a blanket to charity for every product sold," said Mesh Gelman, a co-founder of Blanket America.

Updated with new bargains daily, Blanket America’s Facebook page is a valuable resource for visitors looking to save money on blankets, comforters, towels, sheet sets, window dressings and other products. Blanket America is a child company of Extreme Linen, a major textile manufacturer for Macy’s, J.C. Penney, Target and other top stores, so shoppers can trust that they’re browsing top-quality products.

Facebook deals so far have included over 55% off and free shipping on a 300 Thread Count, Four-Piece Cotton Sateen Sheet Set, as well as discounted Blanket America e-gift cards just in time for Mother’s Day. Fans of the page are encouraged to keep their eyes open for more deals on blankets, bedding sets, towels, window dressings, and the other offerings on Blanket America’s site.

The page is still young, but in just a matter of days it garnered nearly 500 fans. Much of this can be attributed to Blanket America’s recent promise to send a blanket to an American in need -- specifically the Alabama residents affected by the April tornado in Tuscaloosa -- for every "like" the page received. In less than 24 hours the page had collected 369 likes -- or 369 blankets for Alabama.

"We posted on the main fan page that for every like the new page got, we would donate a blanket to someone in Alabama, and in no time we saw the number of fans rising. It makes us proud that our fans were so quick to respond -- it shows they truly care about their fellow Americans -- and we’re very pleased with how successful this has been so far. We expect it to only become more successful as time goes on," said Gelman.
