Act One's LED electronic sign installed three years ago at Holiday Inn in Torrance has been paid off by the hotel's enhanced hospitality image and better competitive edge over the competition. The 3' high by 10' long solid-state LED sign is energy efficient - running 24-7 with the monthly electrical energy cost at only $10.

LED Electronic Sign Enhances Holiday Inn's Hospitality Image
Torrance, CA, March 10, 2007 --(PR.com)-- In a city where many domestic and international visitors come to stay after arriving at the nearby Los Angles International Airport, it's no surprise that competitions among the many hotels in Torrance are fierce. Holiday Inn, a large 14-story, 329-room full-service hotel, adopted an effective way to enhance its hospitality image by adding an outdoor LED electronic marquee to its 40-foot-high pylon sign structure.

Holiday Inn selected the manufacturer - Act One Communications, Inc. in Irwindale, California to supply the LED sign. The sign was installed and up for operation in October 2004. After three years of operation, the hotel manager, Glenn Yoshimura, has been pleased with the sign. He says, "It has given us a competitive advantage by having the ability to display promotions at the hotel as well as having special messages for our guests. It has certainly enhanced our hotel image."

The LED sign supplied by Act One is built on solid-state semi-conductor and digital electronic technologies. Because of the longevity, energy efficiency, and reliability of LED materials, the sign can be operated 24 hours a day and 7 days a week continuously. Text or graphic messages are programmed with computer software and then uploaded to the sign via a laptop.

Using the LED sign offers many benefits to the hotel. The 3' high by 10' long sign draws very little electrical power while in operation - less than a 200-watt light bulb! That leads to a monthly electricity bill of only about $10. As the LED is reliable and can last for more than ten years or 100,000-hour continuous lighting up, the cost saving in maintenance service is significant. According to the hotel manager Glenn, Act One's LED sign runs reliably and has had only two service calls since installation.
