Contiki Uses Online Photo Comp to Find New Faces for 2008 Campaign

London, United Kingdom, March 20, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Contiki, the industry leader in travel for 18-35’s is launching an online competition to search for the “Faces of Contiki”. Beginning in early April, the competition will run in conjunction with TNT magazine targeting 18-35’s travellers from both the UK and abroad. Entrants upload their photo and profile to a unique online application which allows them to edit and resize their picture within the site. Visitors to the site vote for their favourite face and the top five will be chosen to front the 2008 campaign in brochures and online advertising. Entrants can invite their friends to vote for them via the “Tell a Friend” function in the site. Kirsten Lopez Head of marketing for Contiki UK said, “We are keen to showcase the diverse range of people who travel with Contiki, and this is an ideal way to achieve this. Focus groups have revealed that our clients far prefer the images in our brochures to show real travellers, rather than models, and this is an opportunity for clients to select the people they wish to see in the brochures, and to have a laugh at the same time.”

The microsite was created by South London based interactive production company Sonique Ltd. Natalie Griffiths, Sonique's director said, "With social networking hitting an all-time high, brands are looking for ways to engage with their customers on this level.
