)-- Applies to All Products Used in HUD-Subsidized and Tax Credit Subsidized Housing
Touchtown Inc. announced today that it is substantially discounting its entire product line for providers of affordable housing, as part of the company’s commitment to improving the quality of life of all older adults nationwide.
The discounts, which range from 35% to 60%, apply to Touchtown’s entire product line, including the company’s At Your Service products for emergency call and emergency notification and the company’s Studio products for in-house television, digital signs, calendars, and web portals. However, two of Touchtown’s products are considered the most cost-effective for affordable housing facilities and are the focus of this program: the emergency call portion of Touchtown At Your Service, and Touchtown Digital Signs.
Under this new program, the discounts are only available for Touchtown products installed in HUD-subsidized housing and tax credit subsidized housing.
The intent of the program is to bring the benefits of advanced technology to America’s low income seniors, according to Jeff Pepper, Touchtown’s Founder and CEO. “Touchtown was founded twelve years ago with the mission of helping older people stay connected, and we are always looking for innovative ways to fulfill our mission. Because the budgets for affordable housing are tight, these residents have always been underserved in terms of advanced technology, so we are excited to be starting this program and working to get advanced technology into the hands of lower income seniors.”
Paul Winkler is the CEO of Presbyterian SeniorCare, the nation’s 13th largest provider of affordable housing, and is also a member of Touchtown’s Board of Directors. “Touchtown’s products provide a great complement to the programs in affordable housing communities to enhance quality of life by promoting activities and communications and support a frailer population to age in place,” says Winkler. “It is also a great support to marketing our communities and ensuring safety for our residents.”
Emergency Call Systems
Touchtown’s eCall package, part of the company’s At Your Service product line, is the senior living industry’s most powerful and easy-to-install emergency call system. It provides each resident with a wireless pendant that not only reports who is calling for help, but also where the individual is currently located anywhere in a multi-story building. The pendant also records the individual’s voice and delivers it to staff so that they know why the individual is calling for help. The system is completely survivable, and continues to operate even if the building has lost all electrical power, phone, internet and LAN. And because it utilizes a wireless mesh network, it can be installed quickly in existing facilities with no wiring work at all, making it extremely cost-effective to install in older facilities.
Touchtown eCall has been discounted 45% for affordable housing providers.
Touchtown’s Digital Signs provide a senior living community with a high quality digital display that keeps residents and visitors informed about events in the community, including activities, dining menus, special events, and announcements. Content can be managed locally and/or at a central office via a web interface. Each Digital Sign system also includes a calendar generation feature, Facebook integration, and a web show for displaying information on the customer’s website.
Touchtown’s Digital Signs have been discounted 50% for affordable housing providers.
Touchtown’s other products are also being discounted for affordable housing providers:
- Touchtown TV+, the senior living industry’s standard for in-house television, is being discounted 50%.
- Touchtown Resident Web Portal, a community-branded website that showcases the life of a senior living community on a senior-friendly, interactive website, is being discounted 60%.
- Touchtown eNotify Package, the portion of Touchtown At Your Service that provides emergency notification and personalized messaging service for each resident, is being discounted 35%.
