Think-a-lot Toys' Story Speller Game Wins a Parents' Choice Award: Company Also Wins Two Other National Awards for Think-ets

Think-a-lot Toys is pleased to announce that its most recent game, Story Speller, is a winner of a Parents' Choice Approved Award.

Boulder, CO, November 06, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Think-a-lot Toys is pleased to announce that its most recent game, Story Speller, is a winner of a Parents' Choice Approved Award. Story Speller is a beginning storytelling game that anyone can play and offers parents and educators a captivating way to engage kids socially and intellectually. Think-a-lot Toys now has over a dozen awards given to its small but impressive line of storytelling and imagination games for the whole family.

The Parents' Choice Awards is the nation's oldest nonprofit program created to recognize quality children's media, and honors the best material for children. Story Speller was approved by Parents' Choice, in part, because "It is a game that is both fun and educational." The game provides kids with 78 story element cards, ten heroes and heroines, and a story board for their story to come to life on. All kids need to add is their active imagination, which for youngsters comes naturally. "This game is highly versatile and could have lots of uses at home and in the classroom," says the Parents' Choice reviewer.

"Good toys are about construction, not destruction," says the Parents' Choice Foundation. "They're about sparking imaginations, not stifling them. Good toys (and puzzles and games) offer new ways of thinking, new ways of seeing, and new ways of creating. Good toys, be they rooted in tradition or launched by technology, offer new approaches to learning; imagination, not a power supply, is the catalyst. From the magic of science to the worlds of make believe, learning adventures are propelled by puppets, mind-bending puzzles, and some knock-your-socks-off games."

Story Speller was designed by Colleen McCarthy-Evans, a well known game designer out of Santa Barbara, California, in collaboration with Think-a-lot Toys. She brings years of past expertise along with her success in the wildly popular game she co-designed, "In a Pickle", which has sold over a million copies. Story Speller has all the elements of continuing this success by providing kids with the building blocks for telling a good story - and for having tons of fun in the process.

In addition to the Parents' Choice Approved Award, Think-a-lot Toys has also just received two additional awards for their popular imagination game, Think-ets. Think-ets won the highest award from Major Fun - called, what else, the Major Fun Award - along with Dr. Toy's Best Pick Children's Product for 2011 Award. These awards come from two of the top toy and game industry reviewers who have spent years studying the best in toys, creativity and fun.

Think-a-lot Toys' products, including Story Speller, are carried nationally at retail outlets such as specialty toy retailers, book, gift, museum, and general stores. Some of the larger retail stores include: Learning Express, Brilliant Sky Toys and Books, Joseph Beth Booksellers, AreYouGame, Amazon.com, ToysRUs, Sears.com, and Geppetto’s.
