TouchSystems Announces Its First Multi-Touch, Large-Format Display

TouchSystems adds a 46" display integrated with multi-touch technology to the P Series.

Hutto, TX, March 01, 2012 --(PR.com)-- TouchSystems is proud to announce its first large-format, multi-touch display, the P4670I-U2. The P4670I-U2 allows for multiple touch points, from as few as two points up to six.

The new P 46” is integrated with PulseIR™ technology. PulseIR™ employs infra red LEDs around the periphery of the 46” screen. The LEDs then work in pairs across the screen and scan for objects touching the screen, allowing for true multi-touch tracking and eliminating ghosting.

The new display brings additional interactivity to digital signage and has application within multiple sectors, including restaurants, retail, hospitality, and public spaces. The technology is housed within a compact, durable frame, and the working components can be sealed to meet IP34 and IP65 specifications. Those qualities, plus its ability to operate 24/7, make the PulseIR™ technology a perfect solution for almost any business.

Nick Truong at TouchSystems touts other benefits of the technology, such as its HID compliancy. He states, “The P4670I-U2 doesn’t involve a complicated set-up; it only has to be plugged into a USB port on a PC, then ‘played.’” Truong also highlights the glass used with the infra red technology. Unlike some glasses used with other touch technologies, this glass doesn’t “stick.” He says, “A person’s fingers will glide across the surface as he or she resizes or rotates an image or gestures or swipes information during a presentation.”

P4670I-U2 features at a glance:
· PulseIR™ (infra red) technology
· Advanced thermal capabilities and cooling system
· Industrial-strength, premium-grade, sealed panel design
· Full 1080p high-definition resolution
· Open Pluggable Specification (OPS) slot
· Ethernet control and communication
