iUniverse.com Honored in the 11th Annual Webby Awards

New York, NY, May 24, 2007 --(PR.com)-- iUniverse, the leading provider of supported self-publishing services, is pleased to announce that its Web site, www.iuniverse.com, has been honored in the Services category of the 11th Annual Webby Awards.

With assistance from agency Ruder Finn Interactive, iUniverse completely revamped www.iuniverse.com in 2006, making it more attractive, informative and easy to use. Upon completion of the project, Ruder Finn Interactive submitted the iUniverse Web site to the Webby Awards, the leading international award honoring excellence on the Internet.

Established during the Web's infancy in 1996, the Webbys are presented by The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, a 550-member body of leading Web experts, business figures, luminaries, visionaries and creative celebrities. Of the more than 8,000 entries submitted to the awards competition, fewer than 15% are honored for their excellence and superior quality. Web sites are judged for content, structure and navigation, visual design, functionality, interactivity and overall user experience.

According to iUniverse President and CEO Susan Driscoll, the company has always focused on having a strong online presence. “Our technology enables us to provide services that are affordable and fast, and the iUniverse Web site is the backbone of our infrastructure,” Driscoll said. “Our goal was to update iUniverse.com to make it even easier for our customers to use. We also wanted to enhance the free information and advice available to authors. I’m now very happy with the site and extremely proud that our efforts have been recognized by the Webby Awards!”
