What Would Roseanne do? Roseanne Barr Pens Advice Column for Cutting-Edge Women’s Magazine
New York, NY, March 21, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Along with stand-up comic; award-winning television producer, writer, and actor; talk-show host; children’s book author; reality TV star; and Green Party presidential candidate; Roseanne Barr can now add one more job to her ever-expanding resume: advice columnist. Beginning this April, Roseanne will share her wisdom with the readers of BUST, “The magazine for women with something to get off their chests,” in a regular column called “What Would Roseanne Barr Do?”

“Roseanne has been through so much in her life, and she never gives up. She’s a very powerful woman, very inspiring,” says BUST Co-Founder and Editor-in-Chief Debbie Stoller. “Who wouldn’t want to have her in their corner, helping to solve life’s many challenges?” In the magazine’s April/May issue, on newsstands March 27, Roseanne answers questions about sex, friendship, and personal finances with her trademark irreverent wit. “Her advice is always hilarious, but it’s also well thought-out. Her responses are clever and creative,” says Senior Editor Molly Simms.

And, unlike many advice columnists who try to soft-pedal the truth to their readers, Roseanne delivers answers that are brutally frank. “I’m a serial monogamist, but I’m a cheater, and I’m starting to wonder what my issue is,” one woman writes, going on to ask Roseanne whether she should tell her boyfriend about her latest indiscretion. “First of all, you’re not a serial monogamist because you’re not a monogamist,” Roseanne replies, bluntly. “Your ‘issue’ really amounts to the fact that you’re dishonest. Stop kidding yourself and deceiving your significant other. Move on and let your boyfriend go.” In responding to a query from a reader who works as a part-time escort and wants to plan for the future, Roseanne quips, “Sounds like for you, right now, there’s no business like ho business.”

Readers are invited to submit questions for Roseanne on BUST’s website, and Simms forwards her the most intriguing questions. “Roseanne’s been an entertainment icon for decades, so we knew readers would love a chance to get a direct line to her,” BUST co-founder and Creative Director Laurie Henzel says. “You always get the unvarnished truth from Roseanne.”
