Made in Yorkshire Good News for Local Actors and Artists

With support from local businesses like Sainsbury’s Moortown branch, Templeworks and the owners of Pondon Hall, independent film producers 2b Acting are successfully making "Witch Trinity," a new supernatural series, in the Yorkshire region, providing much needed work and exposure for local Actors and Artists.

Leeds, United Kingdom, June 17, 2012 --(PR.com)-- It was recently reported in a study published by the IPPR North think tank that 20 percent of young people in Yorkshire are now classed as NEET – not in employment, education or training – compared with just 12 percent in the South East and14 percent in London. This is a tragic position for the region and this is why the work of 2b Acting is so important in showing how businesses can work together and use creativity to not only provide work opportunities but also produce something that inspires and showcases talent.

“Producing the ‘Witch Trinity’ series has revealed to us the fantastic depth of artistic talent that exists in the North and the unique qualities of the region such as remarkable locations and warm welcomes,” says David Jones the director of the show.

“We have designed the production to allow for collaboration and it is great that the warm nature of Yorkshire has meant that businesses such as Sainsbury’s Moortown, Templeworks and the owners of Pondon Hall have contributed. We are also pleased that this collaborative approach has allowed us to promote new talent and the show includes music from local bands such as the ‘Autopsy Boys’ and the ‘Crafters’.”

The creative industry has a broad reach and having successful productions centred on the region may be one of the solutions that Yorkshire needs to address the poor outlook faced by today’s youth.

Youth unemployment has been rising throughout the recession, and fears are growing that a "lost generation" of young people is being created. It is therefore good to see collaborations between industry and artists taking place bringing hope and jobs and more importantly inspiration to those that need it the most.
