)-- “I am the alpha and the omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end. I am the light of the world, the spirit everlasting…” These are the words that begin Via Iesu Christi, “The Way of Christ.”
“This piece was created in a thunderbolt of revelation,” says Mark Sampson, author of Via Iesu Christi and contributing writer to The Corpus Illuminata. “I had spent four Christ inspired years writing short bits, pieces and incomplete drafts of this work. Nothing seemed to fully capture my inspiration until a quiet Sunday morning, a week before Easter last, I was delightfully transfixed after a reading of 1 Corinthian 13 and I wrote the piece in less than twenty minutes. My thoughts for a time were saturated in revelation and my fingertips became as light as goose down as the words seemed to type themselves… it was amazing and wonderfully satisfying.”
When asked why he wrote Via Iesu Christi Mark explains, “Like many followers of Christ’s word, I experience at times an absolutely overwhelming sense of repressed creativity, struggling for expression when I read works from The Good News. I wanted to create for myself a compelling piece of inspiration that fully captured what I feel to be enduring illumination and eternal power of Jesus Christ. I thought others might enjoy it as well.”
Mark invites anyone inspired by the power of the written word to read Via Iesu Christi and challenges artists and non-artists alike to seek inspiration for their creative endeavors and daily lives in the wealth of inspiration to be found in the Son of God.
