)-- Given the leadership demonstrated by the government in Jamaica recently, Solamon President Jay Yeo is in Barbados this week for a series of meetings previously initiated while crossing the Caribbean over the past 18 months. After his visit and augmenting the current Solamon Airport Strategy being executed by SVP Christian Giles, Yeo expects to announce a single point of contact spanning the entire Eastern Caribbean region, from BVI to ABC, to bundle and package solar deals greater than 5mw.
"We face unique situations on each island but have set a timeline in which to gauge our success overall," says Yeo. "We know executing a successful marketing campaign is as simple as being on the ground, anywhere in the world, and based on our recent decision to extend existing commercial partnerships we expect to see results in the short-term. Our internal team will still address the solar needs for clients looking for systems less than 5mw on a case-by-case basis, but we now enjoy an expanded team of senior professionals standing by and looking forward to evaluate each of the utility-grade opportunities presented to us."
While in Barbados, Yeo is also looking to finalize and secure a relationship with one of the major solar hot water heating providers in the region as a co-branded integration, sales and service partner. Solamon anticipates to support sales initiatives by developing and providing marketing tools, as well as providing training for their in-house teams grow. As a result of these new partnerships, Solamon Energy is set to acquire the residential and mid-size commercial solar market across the Caribbean in general, but the Eastern Caribbean specifically.
Supporting these activities, Solamon is creating relationships with a business development and finance partner to facilitate the lending process with local banking institutions for residential customers, and performing the necessary due-diligence to get large commercial customers "finance ready". Yeo explains the company is essentially building a process or criteria based on available lending programs at financial institutions and articulating the level of risk to our large finance group for commercial customers.
"Once announced," Yeo concludes, "our formal point of contact will be allocated each defined territory for business development on megawatt-scale opportunities, acting as our front-line representative with the full support of Solamon Energy and its partners for pre-planning and integration of top-level and fully integrated systems as required by the client."
