The Chef’s Academy Participates in Mills Park Elementary “Health Rocks Night”

Culinary Institute Partners with Local Elementary School for Healthy Cooking Demonstrations

Raleigh, NC, February 20, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The Chef’s Academy (http://www.thechefsacademy.com), the Culinary Division of Harrison College, a 110-year-old, nationally accredited institution that offers more than 40 degree programs in five schools of study, has announced that the school will participate in Mills Park Elementary’s “Health Rocks Night” on Thursday, Feb. 21 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event, which will focus on nutritious meals, fitness and healthy living, will be held at the Mills Park Elementary School cafeteria and gym, located at 509 Mills Park Dr. in Cary, N.C. Chef Jennifer Leamons, chef instructor from The Chef’s Academy, along with four students from the culinary institute, will use Cabot Creamery’s new light cheddar in demonstrations of healthy recipes that are easy for parents and kids to recreate at home.

The School Health Advisory Board, comprised of staff and parents volunteering their time, organized the evening of fun, fitness and tasty food samples. In addition to the cooking demonstration, there will be Tae Kwon Do demonstrations, a series of interactive exercise drills with Excel Body Fitness and fun jump rope exercise demonstrations from the award-winning Cary YMCA SuperSkippers. Door prizes from a number of community partners will also be raffled off throughout the event. The event is free; however, tickets are required for entry.
