)-- ClearDB, a leading database-as-a-service for MySQL powered applications, today announced that its CEO and founder Cashton Coleman will be speaking at the Percona Live MySQL Conference and Expo on Wednesday, April 24, in Santa Clara, California.
In a session titled Different Cloud, Different Challenges: High Availability MySQL on Windows Azure, Mr. Coleman will talk about the MySQL experience in Microsoft’s popular Windows Azure cloud, and what’s involved in maintaining maximum uptime in this dynamic environment.
“ClearDB is available in a number of cloud environments, but we have a unique perspective on Windows Azure in particular because we power all of the MySQL services for Windows Azure Websites,” says Michael Russo, VP of Sales and Marketing at ClearDB.
“A lot goes into high availability MySQL in cloud environments, and with Azure we’ve used a combination of high-availability routing technologies and self-healing procedures to maximize database uptime for MySQL users.”
The session starts at 2:00 PM in Ballroom H at the Hyatt Regency Hotel and Santa Clara Convention Center, and is open to all attendees holding a full conference pass.
“We’re expecting a good turnout, since this is the only session that will be dealing with Windows Azure specifically,” adds Russo. “I know that Cashton is looking forward to sharing our Azure and MySQL experience at Percona Live.”
