)-- The Harvest Center of Charlotte is pleased to announce the appointment of experienced non-profit manager and North Carolina native Colin Pinkney as its new Executive Director. As a result of his work founding and leading various mentoring and fatherhood organizations, Pinkney was recently awarded the 2012 Governor’s Medallion, marking him as one of the 20 North Carolina volunteers that have had greatest community impact.
In addition to his experiences as a pastor and local business manager, Pinkney has been founding and leading Charlotte non-profit organizations for the past decade. His passion for mentorship has included the founding of the We Are World Class book club for boys, impacting more than 120 boys with a 100% graduation rate in its participants. He has also served as chaplain of the Charlotte Bobcats since 2005.
Colin Pinkney brings a wealth of experience to his position at The Harvest Center, as he has served since 2004 as the Executive Director of The Urban Restoration, the largest inner-city family non-profit organization in Charlotte. In that time he has greatly impacted the community and advocated for nearly $5 million is funding.
