Carol Smallwood Reflects on Nature and Society in her Poetry Collection, Compartments: Poems on Nature, Femininity, and Other Realms

Anaphora Literary Press (www.anaphoraliterary.com) is pleased to promote Carol Smallwood’s engaging book of poems, Compartments: Poems on Nature, Femininity, and Other Realms.

Tucson, AZ, June 24, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Compartments: Poems on Nature, Femininity, and Other Realms
($15, ISBN: 978-1-937536-00-8, LCCN: 2011912611, 6X9″, 146pp)

“Carol Smallwood offers a jewel-chest of small poems, sparkling with observation, wisdom and maturity. Each is so personal that one might imagine her wearing it as an adornment, but reaches into consciousness so as to enrich the experience of the reader. She touches nature gently, as in ‘A Spider in January’ and shares herself freely and colorfully. The collection is a prize and a delight.” –Patsy Anne Bickerstaff

“Carol Smallwood blends history and nature with the personal and domestic in powerful poems that are both current and timeless.”
—Kate Hopper, Use Your Words: A Writing Guide for Mothers; editor, Literary Mama

“I especially appreciate her attention to the things of the world, their physical being, as well as their poignancy.”
—Ellen Bass, Pushcart Prize Winner
