Toastmasters Speech Contest at Date Palm Country Club, Sept. 20, 2013

Humorous Speech Contest and Speech Evaluation Contest for Toastmasters Clubs in the California Desert from Banning and Beaumont, CA to Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Indio, and Coachella, CA.

Palm Springs, CA, September 01, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Member clubs of Toastmasters International (www.Toastmasters.org), from Beaumont, Banning, Coachella, Indio Palm Desert, and Palm Springs will each send representatives to compete at the Desert area speech contests, as follows:

Where: Date Palm Country Club (the Clubhouse)
Address: 36200 Date Palm Drive, Cathedral City, CA 92234
When: Friday, September 20, 2013

Time: 5:00 PM for Registration and Refreshments
Contest Begins: 6:00 PM, which ends around 9:30 PM

Cost: $10 per person (contestants enter for free), includes Refreshments

Deadline to Enter: When each contest officially begins.
The public is welcome to attend. An RSVP is not required.

Contestant Qualifications for this Contest: Members in good standing of an active Toastmasters club in Area D3 or D4 of District 12 Toastmasters.

Two contests for each Area: (1) Humorous Speech and (2) Speech Evaluation

Winners of each contest will advance to the Toastmasters District 12 Division D Contest, to take place in Redlands, at ESRI, on October 5, 2013.

Humorous speeches must be original, presented in English, and last from five to seven minutes. Judging criteria includes speech development, effectiveness, value, audience response, appropriateness, vocal qualities, and gestures.
