SecureNet Announces IP Interactive Gateway Module

Plug-and-play hardware integrates with existing alarm panels to connect security services and home automation without the need for a telephone line.

Longwood, FL, October 16, 2013 --(PR.com)-- SecureNet Technologies today introduced the SecureNet Interactive Gateway, the first in a series of hardware modules designed to provide homes and businesses with secure, point-to-point alarm transportation and interactive services without the need for a land-based phone line.

As larger and larger numbers of customers of alarm and home automation services cancel their traditional telephone service in favor of cell phones and IP-based telephony, there is an increasingly urgent need to provide connectivity to these services using other technologies. SecureNet’s Interactive Gateway uses customers’ existing local internet connection to deliver fast, reliable alarm transportation and lifestyle services.

In addition to remote alarm control, the SecureNet gateway connects via wireless Z-wave technology to other devices within the home, providing lighting and lock controls, management of audio/video systems, thermostat and energy management, and remote appliance control.

At launch, the interactive gateway will be fully compatible with the largest installed base of alarm hardware, including panels from Honeywell, DSC, and GE. Firmware updates, including support for alarm panels from other manufacturers, will be delivered remotely.

“The lack of a traditional land-based phone line shouldn’t stand between an alarm dealer and a customer,” said Ben English, Chief Marketing Officer for SecureNet. “Each ethernet-based interactive gateway connects directly with the central station using secure triple DES encryption to deliver services to the customer with a level of reliability and at a price point unmatched in the industry.”

The SecureNet Interactive Gateway was developed using intellectual property held jointly between SecureNet Technologies and Resolution Products, Inc., and is available now.
