Delaware Named Top Captive Domicile and Steve Kinion Recognized by Captive Review

Captive Review magazine names Delaware as the 2013 U.S. onshore captive domicile of the year.

Wilmington, DE, December 07, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The Delaware Captive Insurance Association (DCIA) is pleased to announce that Captive Review magazine has named Delaware as the 2013 U.S. onshore captive domicile of the year as part of its annual U.S. Captive Service Awards. The judges remarked that Delaware is a well-regulated domicile and that it continues to stay innovative and competitive by updating its captive statute on a regular basis.

The DCIA congratulates Steve Kinion for being included on Captive Review's annual Power 50 List for 2013. Mr. Kinion, director of the Delaware Bureau of Captive and Financial Insurance, earned the number 37 ranking on the list and was one of only two U.S. captive regulators to be recognized. A panel of captive insurance experts organized by the editors of Captive Review selected Steve.

The list recognizes the captive insurance industry's most proactive, influential and innovative figures for the current year. The commentary for Mr. Kinion's inclusion noted that "he has been described a highly professional regulator with a pragmatic understanding of the need for proportional regulation."

These acknowledgements further confirm that Delaware is positioned as one of the world's most important captive insurance domiciles. Delaware ranks as the world's 10th largest captive domicile and the third largest in the United States. Learn more about the domicile and DCIA on-line at www.delawarecaptive.org
