Dr. Cozart has over 50 years experience in the education field. He is a private English Tutor in New York and can be reached at williamcozart.com. He currently tutors students in grammar, composition, literature, preparation for the SAT, the ACT, AP exams, and middle school NY State ELA exams. Dr. Cozart also tutors employees in the business and industry arena and trains them in communication skills, critical and innovative thinking, and preparation for presentations. He was born October 13, 1936 in San Antonio, Texas. He obtained a B.A. in English from the University of Texas in 1958, an M. A. in English in 1960 and a Ph.D. in English in 1963, both from Harvard University. He has served as Professor of English at a number of universities. He was awarded the Danforth Foundation Scholarship to Harvard Graduate School, later obtained a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities and was chosen "Professor of the Year" by the SFA Board of Regents in 1981. Dr. Cozart is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. While teaching literature at the California Institute of Technology, he created the "Caltech Student Players" and, at Stephen F. Austin State University, he created a program for Gifted and Talented middle school children. He has two children. In his spare time Dr. Cozart enjoys classical music, travel, film and spending time with friends.
