AFG Group Awarded Major HHS Lease Consolidation Project by GSA

AFG’ Group is awarded the company's third major Washington DC based Federal lease consolidation project in recent years.

Herndon, VA, March 21, 2014 --(PR.com)-- GSA National Capital Region recently awarded AFG Group, Inc. a Construction Management (CM) Services contract for consolidation of Health and Human Services departments into the historic Mary E. Switzer Building located in downtown Washington, DC.

The consolidation will save the Federal Government significant rental costs as part of HHS’s relocation program. Approximately 1,600 HHS employees from a dozen different locations will relocate into 358,000 SF of newly renovated space in the recently LEED GOLD rated modernized office building.

Paul Szmurlo, AFG’s Director of Federal Program/Construction Management Services will serve as AFG’s Project Executive.

AFG will provide CM services during the tenant build-out design and construction phases and all project coordination for all relocation planning, move management, swing management, and FF&E installation.

According to Szmurlo, “This is AFG’s third major Washington DC based Federal lease consolidation project in recent years. It is an excellent addition to the AFG portfolio of construction management projects that we have completed for GSA NCR over the past 20+ years.”
