)-- Our individual pursuit of happiness may be seen by many as a fundamental right designed and woven right into the fabric of the American dream. Thus teaches author Randy Jernigan in his new book "The Road to Happiness," out later this month through Creative Partners Publishing House.
"We are all here to seek the happiness, well-being and freedom from suffering that comes from living the good life," says Jernigan in an interview with Louise Moore of Grand Central Magazine's book page. "Sometimes we must make major changes in our lives to deserve that happiness."
In the midst of a successful writing career and what he perceived to be a normal life, Jernigan came to the realization that he had made a "wrong turn" in life and that much of his entire life had been effected negatively by it. For years Jernigan had been plagued with self esteem issues, family troubles, and bouts of deep depression until a life-altering revelation led him on an entirely new journey to understand and find out how to achieve lasting joy and happiness.
Through years of research, study and soul searching the author has come to an understanding that what most happy people have in common is that they can remember the past with peace and serenity. They also anticipate the future with confidence, and life in the present with exuberance. He has discovered that what gives him his perspective is a set of skills that he tries to practice daily, and that he carefully lays out in this book.
"In The Road to Happiness," the author recounts with some insight, and some bravery, his very personal journey to better understand and practice the skills of happiness with the goal of helping others on their road to meaningful living.
"I had come to a point in my life where I knew that if I were to ever find the long-term joy and happiness I sought, it was a must that I make some big changes in my life," explained Jernigan. "I needed to stop following after false notions and live in truth. I lost a lot of friends along the way but regained my self respect and my feelings of self worth returned. I found a lasting happiness that fulfills me and keeps me going day to day."
Jernigan, author of the best selling book "Losing To Win!" is a well known journalist, fiction writer and screenplay writer.
"The Road to Happiness" is due out April 14, 2014 in the U. S. market through Creative Partners Publishing House in paperback and will also be available through Kindle.
