Philadelphia, PA, November 25, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Feeding Philadelphia Area Families in Need for a 2nd Year

This time of year many families face hardships. So, SCLC Philadelphia and F.E.A.S.T. Catering are happy to team up once again to feed area families this Thanksgiving. "We know that hunger doesn't just happen on holidays," stated Jay Battersbee, SCLC Treasurer and F.E.A.S.T. Catering owner.

The goal is to follow these families going forward to connect them with the relevant resources to get them back on track. "I love cooking, so I really enjoy being able to make a difference through my food," said Battersbee.

SCLC Philadelphia is committed to improving the lives and conditions for the underserved residents of Eastern Pennsylvania. In October, the group assisted thirty domestic abuse victims through a project with the Delaware County Domestic Abuse Center. "We are an organization that strives to address various issues in the area, including poverty, hunger, education and domestic violence," stated Al Vincent Jr., the SCLC Chapter President.

This year SCLC Philadelphia were fortunate to have their food items donated by Acme, Brown's ShopRite and Pathmark. Please visit at www.sclcphilly.org for more details.
