About John F. Jones III, Ph.D., H.Phys., N.D., H.D.
Dr. Jones has over 36 years experience in the education field. He is a Medical Educator Researcher at City University of New York. He specializes in medical science, endocrinology, holistic medicine and biological nutrition. Dr. Jones obtained a B.S. from Clark College in Atlanta, Georgia in 1963 and a M.S. from Virginia State University in 1969. In 1984, he obtained a Ph.D. in Basic Medical Science and Endocrinology from New York University. He also has a Ph.D. in Holistic Nutrition, HygioPhysician degree, Hygienic Doctor degree and Naturorthopathic Doctor degree from the University of Natural Health.

Departments in which Dr. Jones has worked include biology, anatomy, physiology, histology and cell biology, anesthesiology, microbiology, chemistry, clinical chemistry, hematology, obstetrics & gynecology and physical chemistry. He served in an administrative capacity as the Director of the Pre-Med Unit of the Opportunity Program at New York University. His duties included staff supervision, planning, fiscal responsibility and monitoring on a day to day basis the academic character and progression of the curriculum and the program services. Dr. Jones’ duties were to provide preliminary education and facilitate entry of disadvantaged undergraduate students into professional schools of medicine and dentistry. In 1978, he was a Fellow in Hematology in the Department of Medicine at New York University. His responsibilities were chromatography and electrophoresis. In 1977, he moved to the Department of Obsetrics & Gynecology as a research assistant. Dr. Jones’ duties were to participate in ongoing research and to perform various endocrine tests to include beta HCG, estrogen, progesterone, prolactin, FSH and LH. He was the primary investigator of a project studying the role of thyroid hormone binding receptors on fatty acid synthesis. He has considerable experience in medical science, both research related and educationally. In recent years, Dr. Jones primarily teaches nursing students and pre-med students. In his spare time he enjoys reading.
