Memphis, TN, January 31, 2006 --(PR.com)-- The Dahntay Jones Foundation will host it’s first mini basketball camp for Memphis youth on Tuesday, January 31st at 3:00 pm at the Fed Ex Forum in Memphis, TN. Invited participants include student athletes from Vance and Westside Middle Schools.

This mini camp is the beginning of a series of free events that will take place at various schools and recreation centers in the New Jersey, Philadelphia and Memphis communities.

The Foundation believes that these camps will teach young student athletes several key fundamentals to improve their game. Campers will learn proper techniques for passing, ball handling, defensive posture, and how to set and read screens.

The primary objective however, is the message that Jones will deliver to these young people about the importance of education, and remaining focused and positive to reach their goals.

The standout Duke University graduate founded the Dahntay Jones Foundation in 2005, and is dedicated to improving the lives of inner city youth through a variety of mentoring programs and scholarships. Jones believes that knowledge is the key to success, and it has become his mission to help young people pursue their dreams of higher education.
