American Foundation for Suicide Prevention Walks Make Peer-to-Peer Fundraising 30

Cincinnati, OH, April 29, 2015 --(PR.com)-- DonorDrive Peer-To-Peer Fundraising client, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s Out of the Darkness™ Community Walks joins America's top 30 most successful experiential fundraising events, as verified by the Peer-to-Peer Professional Forum. http://www.peertopeerforum.com In 2014 the AFSP walks saw a 32% increase in total dollars raised over 2013. Nicole Dolan, Director of the Out of Darkness Walks for AFSP, say this is a great honor for all the work her staff and volunteers have done: “It’s pretty exciting. We were really proud of it. ”

In addition the increase in total dollars raised, the walks grew 37% in online dollars though DonorDrive and increased their participants by 35%. Nicole sees a combination of things behind the growth: “We now have great staff coverage across the country which enables us to work better with volunteers in order to make these walks happen. We also monitored progress more critically by pulling reports almost weekly to look at what we could do to keep up momentum in high performing markets and proactively support markets that needed a boost. There was also messaging going out much earlier in the year encouraging supporters to register and to fundraise.” Mobile-friendly pages in DonorDrive also helped lead to a 228% increase in mobile donations over the last two years for AFSP. Nicole has seen mobile benefit in other ways as well: “With registrations, it certainly helped. We’re seeing a ton of traffic on mobile.”

While success last year was exceptional, Nicole plans to keep up the trend: “We knew we grew immensely last year. It gives us big goals to keep up this year.” AFSP joins another DonorDrive client, the National Down Syndrome Society's Buddy Walks®, in the Peer-to-Peer Fundraising 30.
