On Friday, June 26th the Editors’ Lounge will host a special evening dedicated to educating the post production community about ACES, the Academy Color Encoding System, as well as the latest in state-of-the-art, reference-grade monitors

Burbank, CA, June 18, 2015 --(PR.com)-- How do you get the entire creative team from the set, through editorial, post and archiving to speak the same language when it comes to color management and file interchange? ACES is the answer. On Friday, June 26th the Editors’ Lounge will host a special evening dedicated to educating the post production community about ACES, the Academy Color Encoding System, as well as the latest in state-of-the-art, reference-grade monitors. The event will be held at AlphaDogs 1612 W. Olive Ave., Suite 200 Burbank, CA 91506 beginning at 6:30 p.m. RSVP is required to attend. http://www.editorslounge.com

Alex Forsythe, Academy Technical Lead, ACES Project, Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, will open with a presentation about what ACES is and how it works, with a focus on editorial and post. He will be joined by Digital Intermediate Colorist Trent Johnson of Deluxe Culver City and Editor Shelly Westerman, who will discuss ACES' real world application. The duo collaborated on "The Wedding Ringer," a film that employed ACES throughout the creative process. Guests can expect to gain real insight into ACES and learn how ACES will impact their work.

The Editors' Lounge Monitor Shootout will present reference grade LCD and OLED monitors from a number of manufacturers (including Sony, Flanders Scientific, Boland, TV Logic and more). These color-critical screens will be lined up in a row under controlled lighting conditions while displaying the same content, so that attendees can move from monitor to monitor and evaluate them in a way that can't be done at trade show booths. Company representatives will be on hand to answer questions.

The Editors’ Lounge offers the opportunity to learn from post-production industry peers and networking with new and old friends. The Lounge opens at 6:30 p.m. with presentations beginning at 7:00 p.m. RSVP is required to attend. The price of admission is to bring your favorite beverage. Editors’ Lounge will provide the food.
