BTIA Attends World Travel Market 2007 at Excel, London

Belize Tourism Industry Association joined other tourism private sector partners along with the Belize Tourism Board at the World Travel Market 2007.

Belize City, Belize, December 01, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Belize Tourism Industry Association joined other tourism private sector partners along with the Belize Tourism Board at the World Travel Market (WTM) held at the Excel Convention Center in London this past week November 12-15, 2007.

World Travel Market 2007 is nearly 2% larger compared to last year, welcoming 5,402 exhibitors from more than 200 represented regions and countries.

Fiona Jeffery, Chairman of World Travel Market said that although she was delighted that the event had broken all records in terms of size, the most important factor was bringing nearly 50,000 senior industry delegates together under one roof to conduct business, network, identify new markets and learn about new global trends and developments.

“World Travel Market has grown virtually year on year, but for us this is not as important as delivering a quality business to business event”, she said.

The main objectives centre on attracting international buyers with purchasing authority, as well as senior management and industry professionals representing every region and sector.

Additionally the show included a series of workshops and seminars geared toward the members of the Merdian club, press and exhibitors which helped in introducing new trends in the industry.

The BTIA representative Efren Perez- Marketing & Information officer exhibited along with co-sponsors Radisson Fort George Hotel & Marina, Rainforest & Reef Resorts of Belize, Machaca Hill Lodge, Belize Hotel Association, The Villas Banyan Bay, Bel-Cruise Company Ltd, Hugh Parkey’s Belize Adventures, and Viaventures along with representatives from the BTB under the Belize Tourism Board Pavilion.
