Boundless Journeys Announces Annual Charity Event for 2008

Tanzania Migration Safari to Benefit the Foundation for African Medicine and Education.

Stowe, VT, December 06, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Adventure tour operator Boundless Journeys is offering its July 14-23, 2008 Tanzania Migration Safari trip as a special charity event to benefit the nascent non-profit organization, the Foundation for African Medicine and Education (FAME; www.fameus.net). FAME was founded in 2002 by Dr. Frank Artress, an American physician, and his wife, Susan Gustafson, an educational psychologist, after a climb on Mt. Kilimanjaro took a bad turn. This life-altering experience led them to relocate to Tanzania and dedicate their expertise to helping bring adequate medical care to an area where it is sorely lacking.

The East African country of Tanzania has long been known as a world-class wildlife safari destination. But it is also a region of extreme poverty, where the per capita income averages less than $1 a day. There is less than one physician for every 25,000 people. As Karen Cleary, African Trip Manager for Boundless Journeys notes "It is part of Boundless Journeys' mission to plan an annual charity event trip, as one aspect of our commitment to sustainable tourism. FAME is a young organization with an admirable goal, and we have an opportunity to truly make a difference for them with this trip."

Along with a wildlife safari including deluxe mobile camping on a private reserve bordering Serengeti National Park, a stay on the Ngorongoro Crater rim, and time in Tarangire National Park (known for its large herds of elephants during the dry season), Boundless Journeys guests who participate in the July 14-23 Tanzania Migration Safari will have the opportunity to:

-Deliver much needed medical supplies to the FAME clinic in Karatu, Tanzania;

-Spend a day visiting the FAME clinic, meeting patients and staff, or head out with the mobile medical unit for a day;

-Meet FAME founders Frank Artress and Susan Gustafson to learn what more can be done to help;

-Present a portion of the proceeds of the trip to FAME to help fund operational expenses.

Reservations are currently being taken for Boundless Journeys' Tanzania Migration Safari special charity event. The July 14-23, 2008 trip costs $4895 per person (not including international airfare), plus national park fees of $600.
