"Iowa GOP Result Shows America Needs a New GOP Candidate," Ed Marshall, GOP Outsider Candidate Says Regarding His Write-in Campaign

The Iowa GOP caucus result confirms what he has said all along, namely that America in general and the Republican Party in particular, needs a new, outsider "person of the people, not a lifetime government politician" for its next President, according to write-in candidate Ed Marshall. Marshall is looking ahead to New Hampshire and the other primaries for write-in support.

Los Angeles, CA, January 06, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The Iowa GOP caucus, and, in fact, the Democrats' caucus as well, show that no candidate is truly standing out in the Presidential race, says GOP maverick write-in candidate, Ed Marshall of Los Angeles.

"I believe the country is ready for an outsider, a person of the people, and not another lifetime politician, trying to extend his or her personal power and to continue feeding at the public trough of taxpayer dollars," says Ed Marshall, who has said he will not accept any taxpayer-dollar salary if elected.

Marshall is running a campaign in which no private or taxpayer money is being accepted. "The presidential campaign should not be about me or any other candidates boosting themselves on the backs of your donations and tax dollars. It should be about who is best for America and all of its citizens, about who has the best stands, the best solutions for the important issues that face our country," Marshall says.

Ed Marshall's campaign is based on his website MarshallYourVotes.org where his stands on many issues are "very clearly presented".

Marshall favors making the first $50,000 of personal income free of any federal income tax, and wants that amount increased by $12,500 each year. "This will help Americans struggling to make ends meet and to get ahead more than any other thing government can do, and it does not involve new expensive government bureaucratic programs that don't solve problems," Marshall claims, adding, "It will increase the consumer spending power of all Americans, which will also stimulate the economy."

Marshall wants to see a media campaign, with the help of the Iraqi government, to convince all Iraqis to do what the Al Anbar Province tribal leaders have done. Al Anbar has gone from a violent to a relatively peaceful province in Iraq since those tribal leaders have obtained the help of their people to root out and neutralize the Al Qaeda and other foreign terrorists in their midst. If this is done throughout Iraq, "we can then seriously begin bringing home the vast majority of American troops, and Iraq will be left with a mainly peaceful and successful new democracy. A media campaign is bloodless, and far less expensive than ongoing widespread U.S. military presence and operations," Marshall concludes.

Ed Marshall invites everyone to visit his campaign website at MarshallYourVotes.org, and he reminds all Republicans and Independents that, to avoid campaign costs, he will be only a write-in candidate in the primaries, and that "writing 'Ed Marshall' on your GOP primary ballot is pretty easy. It's up to you."
