New LCR-Reader Task Kit: LCR-Reader Professional with Pre-Calibrated Device and Accessories

Siborg Systems Inc. has begun offering a new task kit in the LCR-Reader Store that will be on sale until the end of June.

Waterloo, Canada, June 19, 2016 --( To celebrate the re-launch of their online store, Siborg Systems Inc. began offering task kits, a pre-made bundle that included and LCR-Reader or Smart Tweezers LCR- and ESR-meter and accessories. These kits offer a discount compared to buying each piece by itself. Siborg has now begun offering the LCR-Reader Professional; this kit includes a pre-calibrated LCR-Reader, NIST traceable calibration certificate, spare straight tips, an extra battery, charger and paper manuals. Until the end of June 2016, Siborg will be offering the LCR-Reader Professional for $218.88 USD.

LCR-Reader ( is a lower-cost model in the Smart Tweezers line of handheld, digital LCR- and ESR-meters. The LCR-Reader is nearly half the cost of other Smart Tweezers models due to its lack of features, but still offers the same functionality that Smart Tweezers has become synonymous with. The 1 oz. device has an LCR-meter with high basic accuracy and gold-plated tweezers as probes; when the tweezers have a hold on a component, the LCR-Reader will automatically determine the type of component and best test frequency for that component. It then measures for Inductance, Resistance or Capacitance, while also measuring for any secondary values such as the ESR values. All measurement values, the type of component and test frequency are displayed on the screen immediately.

Since their debut, LCR-Reader has been overlooked by professionals due to its lack of NIST traceable calibration certificate; this is important for companies that require their test equipment to be calibrated annually. Customers were overlooking LCR-Reader despite its low-cost.

To remedy this, Siborg worked with the Institute of Automation and Electrometry at the Russian Academy of Sciences in Novosibirsk, Russia, to create a new calibration fixture that was able to handle the full range of new Smart Tweezers devices, including the LCR-Reader. This new fixture utilizes 14 known components that fall within the measurement range; when a device is connected, the fixture will rotate through the components with the measurement values being displayed on the ST ( or LCR-Reader’s display. These measurement values are compared to the known values of the components and the devices’ accuracy is then accepted or rejected. Siborg sent the calibration fixture to Navair Technologies in Toronto, Ontario for verification. Since being sent back, Siborg has been able to offer calibration certificates for LCR-Reader in their store.

Siborg’s store also offers many accessories and replacement parts, task kits, and other devices such as the Smart LED Test Tweezers that are able to test LEDs and other small components, and the SMD Multimeter Test Tweezers that add tweezer-probe function to any multimeter with 4mm jacks. Visit the LCR-Reader Store today to take part in the LCR-Reader Professional Sale for $218.88 USD until the end of June. (
