As part of a military family, Doyle moved to Hawaii when she was eight years old and developed an early interest in engines. Working as an auto mechanic for a women's powderpuff demolition derby, she was actively sought out by the U.S. Airforce to work on aircraft, which she declined, choosing instead to explore a career in real estate and mortgage financing. Pursuing a job opportunity, Doyle moved to Atlanta in 1982, working for ten years at a small Buckhead bank before returning to Hawaii.

An artist at heart, Doyle is a skilled oil painter, specializing in landscapes, flowers, homes and beach scenes. The mother of two grown daughters, she is also a proud grandmother to five beautiful grandchildren.
