Wellington, OH, March 26, 2017 --(PR.com
)-- E. L. Hatton Sales Co., the maker of Banner Ups, has made sign-making history by creating a banner that withstood winds up to 108 mph in research wind tunnel tests. The banner was constructed using the company’s Improved MegaTape product which will be launched April 1, 2017 and Banner Ups BravoTab adhesive banner tabs. This is the highest survived wind velocity ever documented for a banner and it breaks the previous record of 98 MPH also held by Banner Ups’ current generation MegaTape. Grommets were added to reinforce corners in the 108 mph banner, but a banner without grommets withstood winds up to 99 mph – also a new record. The history-making banner and test video will be on display at booth 3880 at ISA 2017 in Las Vegas, April 20-22, 2017.
E. L. Hatton has recently developed innovative new tape polymers that, as the tests demonstrate, are able to produce greater banner strength at equal or lower costs. Banner Ups products allow sign makers to finish banners in 3-5 minutes with no sewing, welding, or grommeting needed. Since their introduction in 1991 the company has supplied enough tabs and tape for approximately 10 million banners. According to company president, Rick Hatton, “While the Banner Ups method is new to some in the sign business, it is a well-proven concept which can really benefit anyone printing banners.”
Last year the company introduced an automated banner finishing machine which can produce about 1500 banners per shift with a single operator. The company also supplies special tapes for finishing pole pocket banners and textile banners and Silicone Edge Graphic (SEG) signs.
