Kaniget Internet Radio Features Andrew Handrick of Ireland

Irish singer/songwriter Andrew Handrick is featured this week on Kaniget Internet Raio with his full CD "The True Riches of Life."

Hollywood, CA, February 25, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Kaniget Internet Radio this week features Andrew Handrick.  Born in Dublin, Ireland, currently based in Bray, Co. Wicklow, Andrew Handrick has been writing songs for the past 12 years.  Combining rock/folk and pop music with deep lyrical content, his songs produce a memorable melodic experience, while his voice rings out with a knowledge, energy and passion second to none.

Andrew is a self taught musician and plays most of the instruments on his recordings.  His early years were spent listening to artist such as Elvis and Dean Martin, later moving on to bands such as The Jam, The Who, The Velvet Underground and eventually understanding the lyrical mastery of Bob Dylan. While Simon + Garfunkel and REM were a big influence on his use of harmonies.  Fusing all these influences together Andrew has written songs which have been compared to Smashing Pumpkins, Dinosaur Jr and Elliot Smith, amongst others.  Andrew only stepped into the role of singer/guitarist in March of 2001, after having been the main songwriter in bands such as Grover and Booster.  As a founding member of these bands, Andrew was involved in playing at the following: IMRO Showcase Night, Heineken Green Energy Band Challenge, Emergenza Band Competition, Limerick Expo, South East Music Seminar also recording a session for the Dave Fanning show on 2FM National Radio.

His song 'Weirdo's Goodbye' was featured on the CD 'Futureproof II' Best of Irish, released through Danceline Records, and he has also contributed work to independent films both in Ireland and the US.  Another of his compositions 'Stolen' made it into the Top 100 of the Bacardi/HotPress Songs of the Year 2002.  He has also been a featured artist on CDGoRound.com in 2003.  Andrew was also part of a group of musicians who won the National Busking Competition in Virginia, Co. Cavan in 2003, and he recently competed in the final of An Tostal Song Competiton 2004. Ireland's premiere music magazine, Hot Press, chose his CD for "Pick of the Fortnight" in its April 2005 edition.  Andrew recently released his debut album "The True Riches Of Life" and is currently playing solo gigs in Ireland and the US.
