Nitenite Scoops Innovation Award

The micro-boutique hotel concept nitenite has been recognised for “excellence in innovation” by an independent judging panel at the Hotel Excellence Awards hosted by Hotel Reservation Service.

Birmingham, United Kingdom, February 15, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The judges commended nitenite for offering clever design and value for money with friendly cosiness and comfort. “nitenite city hotels look set to make an impact on the sometimes ‘tired’ mid-market accommodation scene,” said the judges in their citation.

The formal award was given last week at an event in London, held in the Millbank Tower. Colin Hatt, operations director at nitenite, said: “We were thrilled to receive this accolade which demonstrates that our unique concept is gaining ever wider recognition.”

As well as taking the top spot for innovation, nitenite was one of four finalists in the category Excellent Customer Service.

“It is a testament to the commitment of the team at our first hotel in Birmingham that we have been recognised for customer service despite trading for barely a year and a half,” said Hatt.

The HRS Hotel Excellence Awards are held in association with trade body the British Hospitality Association and are supported by professional association the Institute of Hospitality and specialist organization the Meetings Industry Association.

Editor’s notes:

1) nitenite city hotels are a new generation of smart, functional hotels that use cutting edge design and innovative thinking to create a hotel product that is affordable for all.

2) The nitenite Birmingham hotel has 104 rooms that feature air conditioning, high quality leather and cherry wood finishes, full sized double beds with Egyptian cotton, a plasma television, wi fi access and an en-suite power shower with heated mirrors. And all this within a room of 6.8 square metres.
The small room size and the ability of the hotel rooms not to have windows (none of the bedrooms at the Birmingham hotel has a window) mean that it is possible to use unconventional space in prime city centre locations to deliver exceptional value to customers.

3) Other hotels are planned for throughout the UK, with the focus on London, as well as various sites across Europe and New York.
