Mount Pleasant, SC, October 24, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Sandra S. Watson, Ph.D. of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina has been recognized as a Professional of the Year for 2017 by Strathmore’s Who’s Who Worldwide for her outstanding contributions and achievements in the field of education.

About Sandra S. Watson, Ph.D.
Dr. Watson retired after 43 years with the Alexandria Public Schools, Alexandria, Virginia. She served as a Teacher in the Alexandria School district. She taught special education classes in a number of local elementary schools to students with limited English literacy for 1st and 2nd grade. Dr. Watson also taught the gifted and talented program for grades 4-6. After receiving her Ph.D., she served as a network resource teacher for the Hammond Middle School where she administered and maintained the computer network. She also provided teacher support and expanded their use of technology. Dr. Watson was honored with the Best Teacher Award by the students of her ATP Class, in 1982-1983.

Dr. Watson has published presentations and dissertations. She is affiliated with Delta Kappa Gamma, the Alexandria Education Association, the Virginia Education Association, the National Education Association, the American Education Research Association, Who’s Who Among Students and Who’s Who in Education.

Born in Eagle Pass, Texas, Dr. Watson obtained a B.A. in Elementary Education with Minors in English and History from Furman University and a M.Ed. in Special Education from Memphis State University. She received her Ph.D. in Computer and Technology from George Mason University. In her retirement she enjoys Smithsonian research expeditions, travel, studying overseas and teaching.

Dr. Watson states, “I believed in my students, respected them, and empowered them to be the best they could be.”
