Geoff Habiger, Local Author to Hold Book Signing at Treasure House Books and Gifts in Old Town

Geoff Habiger will be signing copies of his new novels at Treasure House Books and Gifts in Old Town, Albuquerque on March 31 from 1 to 3 pm.

Albuquerque, NM, March 23, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Award-winning local author, Geoff Habiger, will be signing copies of his new novels, "Unremarkable" and "Wrath of the Fury Blade," at Treasure House Books and Gifts in Old Town, Albuquerque (2012 S. Plaza St NW) on March 31, 2018 from 1 to 3 pm. Both new titles were co-written by Kansas City author, Coy Kissee. Both books are published by Shadow Dragon Press, the fantasy, science fiction, and speculative fiction imprint of Artemesia Publishing, LLC.

"Unremarkable" is a supernatural historical fiction novel set in 1929 Chicago. Saul Imbierowicz is an ordinary person who works for the Post Office, but on St. Valentine’s Day he gets swept into the events of the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre. He then finds himself caught between Chicago’s two biggest gangsters – “Bugs” Moran and Al Capone – and the Feds. Everybody wants something from Saul, and now his life is far from ordinary. Threats to his family are just the beginning as more supernatural elements imperil Saul’s very life.

"Wrath of the Fury Blade" is a fantasy crime fiction novel that asks the question, “In a world filled with magic and monsters, how do the police solve crimes?” Constable Inspector Reva Lunaria is a cop in the elven city of Tenyl. Summoned to work on a rare day off, Reva is assigned to find the killer who brutally murdered the King’s First Magistrate. Finding a killer wielding a powerful magical item is a hard enough job on the best of days, but Reva has been saddled with a new partner (who is not up to Reva’s exacting standards) and must deal with the “assistance” of the Sucra, the King’s Secret Police, who have their own agenda for finding the killer. As more prominent citizens are killed Reva must overcome many obstacles to catch the killer.

Geoff has lived in New Mexico since 2005, calling the East Mountains south of Tijeras home. He’s previously published the award-winning children’s activity book, Dinosaur Learning Activity Book. Geoff’s co-author for the new novels, Coy Kissee, is his best friend from high school in Manhattan, Kansas. Geoff provides the creative spark for the novels, getting the rough plot and story down. Coy then does the editing, polishing the story and making sure there is continuity in the story and characters.

The novels are a blend of genres and have received praise from several prestigious review sources. Publishers Weekly says that for "Unremarkable": “The premise invokes classic black-and-white noir, while lurid supernatural details add a touch of blood red.” Kirkus Reviews, in their review of "Wrath of the Fury Blade," says, “In this marriage of fantasy and procedural thriller, the team of Habiger and Kissee...gives fans of both genres a master class in worldbuilding.” Clarion Review gave "Unremarkable" 4 out of 5 stars, “a thrilling gangland drama that reveals unexpected supernatural depths” while both books have received Recommended reviews from US Review of Books.

“We are very thrilled that both books have received such wonderful advance praise,” says Geoff. “Getting these amazing reviews from Publishers Weekly, Kirkus, and the others validates our idea that stories that meld different genres are ones that people will want to read and enjoy. I hope people will take the time to come see me at Treasure House Books on the 31st so they can learn more about both books.”
