Blue Shark Vodka Names Retired Rear Admiral Mark Milliken as CEO

Wilmington, NC, June 24, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Blue Shark Vodka, LLC. has named its first CEO, retired Rear Admiral (LH) Mark Milliken.

“I am honored to take charge and work with this incredible team assembled,” said Milliken. “Approximately six years ago, three of us huddled at our Class Reunion and we contemplated different business ideas. Nothing resonated except for Blue Shark Vodka. Our classmate, George Markulis performed the trademark search and we struck gold!”

Milliken, a native of Carlisle, PA, and graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, also served as the past President for Gulf Unmanned System Center (GUSC), LLC, located in Carrabelle, Florida. Other past positions include, managing Foreign Military Sales (FMS)/Direct Commercial Sales (DCS)/Hybrid Sales and International Cooperation for the Aerospace Group (AG) of Wyle Labs, LLC. He was responsible for international interactions with the various US Navy systems commands as well as the Defense Security and Cooperation Agency (DSCA).

Milliken’s military experience encompassed a variety of operational and staff assignments in numerous theaters throughout the world. He also held various positions on sea-going and land-based staffs. He commanded at numerous levels culminating in commanding USS Independence, the only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, homeported in Yokosuka, Japan. Milliken was also commander for NATO Maritime Forces and Deputy Commander of Naval Central Command (Bahrain) during Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom and served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy for International Programs (NIPO).

Milliken holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Naval Academy and has completed numerous executive business courses. He has lectured at the Naval Post Graduate School, Naval War College and Georgetown/George Washington Law and MBA programs. He retired from the US Navy as a Rear Admiral (LH) after more than 30 years of naval and joint duty. Admiral Milliken will also be a member of Board of Directors of Daytoon, Inc.
