)-- Mikell Reed Carroll, a 42 year old wife, mother of two and an attorney, was crowned International Ms. USA on August 25, 2019 at the Manhattan Movement and Arts Center in New York City.
The mission of the International Ms. Pageant is to connect and celebrate women of elegance and enterprise around the globe. The next Pageant will be held in Summer 2020.
Mikell Reed Carroll is a native of Maine and a graduate of Saint Joseph's College in Maine and the University of Maine School of Law. She currently lives in Zagreb, Croatia with her husband of almost ten years and two children; ages 5 and 1.
Mikell competed on a platform pf Preventing Heart Disease in Women and will spend her year working toward wiping out heart disease. Mikell has been a volunteer and official Ambassador with the American Heart Association since 2012, is a President's Volunteer Service medal recipient for her extensive volunteer work and was featured in Better Homes and Gardens magazine telling readers about her own heart journey.
The International Ms. Pageant took place on Sunday August 25 at the Manhattan Movement and Arts Center in New York City and was live-streamed to thousands as well as taking place in front of a live audience.
The new International Ms. is Dr. Corinne Devin, representing North America, with first runner-up going to Jamaica, Candi Sterling.
International Ms. USA 2020 is Mikell Reed Carroll, representing New England, with first runner-up going to New York, Patrice Hamilton.
There are seven areas of competition in the pageant: Introduction video 10%, Interview 40%, Social Media 10%, Runway 10%, Evening Gown 10%, Photogenic 10% and Resort Wear also 10%. Mikell also took home the prize for Social Media and Corinne took home the prize for Interview.
