Los Angeles, CA, March 17, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Beautiful book highlights Persian wedding traditions in Farsi and English.

Just in time for Norooz, a gorgeous book called The Persian Wedding makes the perfect gift for the Persian New Year. The book, written by Southern California resident Bijan Moridani, details Persian wedding traditions from ancient times until the present day and is fully written in both English and Farsi so that all members of the family can enjoy it.

Moridani began researching Persian wedding traditions five years ago, after his oldest daughter wondered why she could not find any books on the subject. “Five years ago, my daughter asked me about Persian wedding traditions. I realized that it was very difficult to find a comprehensive source of information about the subject,” said Moridani. “So I decided to research and gather information myself. The project eventually turned into a book.”

Because Moridani’s children do not read Farsi, he decided to publish The Persian Wedding in both English and Farsi so that the information is accessible to everybody. To accomplish this goal, Moridani created a novel layout that presents the book in English in the left half of the book, and in Farsi in the right half of the book. It is believed to be the first and only bilingual Persian-English book ever to have been published.

Famous Persian artist Nasser Ovissi lent 10 important paintings to Moridani to use throughout The Persian Wedding. The rich colors and symbolic figures perfectly illustrate the ancient traditions and make The Persian Wedding a wonderful “coffee table book.” Additionally, 68 full-color and four full-page photographs detail each aspect of the traditional wedding layout, and a full glossary and pronunciation guide allow non-Persian speakers to learn the names of each tradition.

Also included in the book is a chapter about the traditional Zoroastrian Persian wedding, presented in a unique first-person account by cultural observer Mrs. Gowhar Namdaran. This special presentation brings the reader on a colorful journey as Namdaran shares a piece of history in her own words.
