Thomas Nelson Selects Ingram Digital’s Content Solutions

Ingram Digital will provide digital content hosting and syndication services.

La Vergne, TN, June 01, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Ingram Digital, an Ingram Content company, announced today that Thomas Nelson, the world's largest Christian publisher and 6th largest trade publisher, has signed a multi-year contract for the CoreSource digital content platform and Ingram Digital’s Search and Discover services.

Under the agreement, thousands of Thomas Nelson titles will be widely available as digital content for delivery to Thomas Nelson’s digital supply chain and for marketing and promotional purposes to help drive both print and digital sales through all of its trade and specialty sales channels.

Ingram Digital will manage and distribute Thomas Nelson titles through CoreSource, its secure, hosted digital asset management system. Thomas Nelson will be able to effectively syndicate its digital content to downstream business partners, including brick-and-mortar retailers, e-tailers and printers, through this platform. CoreSource will also support Thomas Nelson’s mission of environmental responsibility by embracing digital technologies. Nelson’s new environmental plan and paper policy was developed in consultation with The Green Press Initiative and announced earlier this year.

Thomas Nelson will leverage the Ingram Digital Search and Discover platform, which enables new marketing and promotional placement of “see inside the book” and “find inside the book” features. This platform provides full-text discoverability, helping drive print sales and long tail revenue opportunities. The Search and Discover service includes a state of the art widget that enables the placement of content on social networking sites, blogs, and author’s websites, giving Thomas Nelson a strong set of viral marketing capabilities.

“Ingram Digital is committed to powering digital strategies for publishers,” commented Tyler Ruse, Vice President and General Manager of Content Solutions. “This long term partnership is a great example of how CoreSource and Search and Discover enable these strategies for Thomas Nelson. We are very excited to be partnering with such a respected publisher.”

“After an exhaustive review of our options, we concluded that Ingram Digital was most closely aligned to the digital and print needs of Thomas Nelson,” stated Michael S. Hyatt, President & CEO of Thomas Nelson. “Ingram Digital’s platform will improve our internal operations, strengthen the viral marketing campaigns of our retail partners and help us realize our ‘long tail’ opportunities with print-on-demand and the consumer’s growing acceptance of e-books.”
