France Cruises and Beaux Voyages Create Unique Barge/Bike Tour

France Cruises and Beaux Voyages have joined forces to create a unique Barge and Bike tour in two of the most popular regions of France, Burgundy and the Loire.

Monument, CO, April 06, 2006 --(PR.com)-- “Bikes have always been available on France barge cruises, but we were looking to provide something more”, states Jean-Francois Dabrowski of France Cruises. “Guests typically rode along the side of the bank and didn’t wander too far into the countryside for fear of getting lost. Some people want to be more active, and by teaming up with an experienced France bike tour company like Beaux Voyages, we can offer guided bike tours to our guests”.

Says Walt Ballenberger of Beaux Voyages, “We’ll have two sorts of guided biking possibilities available in two of the most beautiful and popular regions of France. In Burgundy we’ll offer guests guided tours from the barge. Instead of taking a van to the various excursions and wine tastings planned, guests can choose to cycle there to enjoy the French countryside up-close, and they can also work off a few calories from the fabulous meals prepared by the chef on-board the vessel”. He adds, “We’ll be aboard ‘La Reine Pedauque’ which has been voted ‘the Best Barge in Burgundy’ every year since 1999 by the Burgundy canal web portal, so this will be a top-notch experience”.

“In the Loire”, continues Ballenberger, “guests will stay in top level hotels and will be treated to guided bike tours to all the major attractions in the area, including famous Chateaux of the Loire like Chenonceau, Chambord, Cheverny, Azay-le-Rideau, Vallandry, Chaumont, and more”.

A native of France, Jean-Francois Dabrowski of France Cruises adds “Both Burgundy and the Loire are major wine regions. The grapes and wine styles in each area are different, and therefore guests will really get a great wine education along the way. We’re excited to offer this unique barge and guided biking tour combination in these superb regions of my home country.” He continues, “This should be excellent for all types of people, those who like to be active when they travel, and those who like to relax as well. We intend to accommodate everyone”.

Dabrowski has been promoting barge cruises in France for more than 12 years and has serviced thousands of guests. Beaux Voyages has been offering bike tours and “Affordable Luxury in Active Vacations” since being founded in 2001.
