Impelsys & Publishing Technology Provide Power to the BBC Monitoring Library

eContent leader Impelsys, leverages its iPlatform™ To Provide BBC Monitoring subscribers online access to information.

New York, NY, June 16, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Impelsys, Inc., a leader in providing electronic content delivery solutions to the global publishing market, and Publishing Technology plc, a leading provider of digital solutions for the publishing industry, announced today the launch of the BBC Monitoring Library, a site that provides subscribers with access to reporting from BBC Monitoring via IP-authentication. Subscribers are able to search news reports from radio, television, news agencies, the press and the web on a wide range of subjects at http://www.bbcmonitoringlibrary.com.

The BBC Monitoring Library utilizes the Impelsys iPlatform™ content delivery solution, a cost effective powerful portal solution. This solution allows subscribers to access news reports from more than150 countries. More than 3,000 radio, television, press, internet and news agency sources are monitored by the BBC Monitoring team each day. The content is delivered from BBC Monitoring via a data feed to the iPlatform solution, where XML-based storage allows the news information to be stored and found with great flexibility. Subscribers can conduct a Quick or Advanced search with multiple filtering options to obtain pertinent emerging stories. The iPlatform solution allows libraries and institutions to access all the information via IP-authentication. In addition, iPlatform’s eCommerce component will drive a full sales and marketing program to assist BBC Monitoring’s entry into new markets.

“We needed a sophisticated, intuitive product to help us compete effectively in new markets,” says Rosy Wolfe, Head of Business Development and Customer Relations at BBC Monitoring. “This has been an ambitious project, so we have welcomed the Publishing Technology team’s enthusiasm and expertise. Working with a single partner has also obviated many of the headaches associated with managing such a complex project, enabling us to focus more clearly on its strategic objectives.”

“Successes like the BBC Monitoring Library Portal demonstrates the strength of our strategic partnership with Publishing Technology,” said Sameer Shariff, Impelsys CEO. “The launch of the BBC Monitoring Library is a great milestone and endorsement for our iPlatform technology. We look forward in supporting additional BBC Monitoring and Publishing Technology projects in the future.”
