Fort Worth Offers Sizzling Summer Savings for Travelers

Fort Worth, TX, June 29, 2008 --( Understanding that many cost-conscious travelers are opting to vacation closer to home this summer, the Fort Worth Convention & Visitors Bureau is offering sizzling specials in its “Summer Stay & Save” promotion.

From June 23 through September 15, travelers can visit and click on the “Summer Stay & Save” icon on the lower left hand side of the home page. There they will find various “staycation” ideas, including links to hotel room specials, coupons from Fort Worth attractions, a listing of free things to do in Fort Worth and summer travel tips.

“According to a recent survey by the travel Web site TripAdvisor, about 50 percent of American travelers are changing their summer travel plans because of soaring fuel prices and sticking closer to home,” said David DuBois, CMP, CAE, president and CEO of the Fort Worth Convention & Visitors Bureau. “We understand the increased need for travelers to experience ‘staycations’ and that’s exactly why we developed the ‘Summer Stay & Save’ program. As a visitor-friendly community, we want to help travelers enjoy an outstanding vacation and save money at the same time.”
