Contour Adjustable Bed Company Grants Wish to Nine Year Old Battling Life Threatening Illness
Bensalem, PA, July 11, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Little Girl Resting and Sleeping Better Thanks to New Bed.

Nine year old Victoria Burks of Phoenix, Arizona is enjoying sweet dreams compliments of the Contour Adjustable Bed company and the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Arizona. Victoria is confined to a wheelchair or bed around the clock due to a life threatening illness. When volunteers from the Make-A-Wish Foundation paid a visit to the family to grant Victoria anything she wanted she asked for a Contour Adjustable Bed.

“When we received the request to donate a bed from the Make-A-Wish Foundation in Arizona we immediately said yes,” said Jeff Mowrey, Executive Director of the Association of Contour Adjustable Beds. “We are huge fans of the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the incredibly good work they do. My family has experienced first hand the generosity and coordination of a granted wish through this organization,” added Mowrey.

In coordination with the delivery of her new Contour Bed, specially equipped with side rails to prevent her from falling out of bed, volunteers from Make-A-Wish re-decorated her room in her favorite colors with a princess theme.

“Victoria loves her new bed,” said her mother, Jackie Burks. “This bed is so much better than what she had before. Jackie has a lot of back problems and she’s much more comfortable. She loves the bed and so do we.”

The Contour Bed company has a long standing relationship with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Over the past nine years Mowrey’s family has organized an annual golf tournament, sponsored by the company, for the Mid-Atlantic chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Their efforts have raised over $140,000 to date. All proceeds are donated directly to the Make-A-Wish Foundation through the Chad Blum Memorial Charities, Inc. to help grant wishes to children fighting life threatening medical conditions. In 1996, Mowrey’s niece was granted an all-expense paid week in Disney World with her family. When his step-brother was killed in a car accident the following year the family started the tournament in his name. Contour employees and distributors across the country support the effort and participate in the tournament alongside friends and family each year.

About Chad Blum Memorial Charities:
In 1999, a golf tournament was organized to honor Chad Blum, who was killed in a car accident at the age of 29, and raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation in the names of Chad Blum and Alyssa Matus, a family member battling a life-threatening genetic disease. What started out as a small affair has blossomed into a very popular annual golf tournament that has raised over $140,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation over the last nine years. Make-A-Wish of the Mid-Atlantic calls it the most meaningful and well organized fundraiser conducted on their behalf.
