As a result, this poem was published in the award winning poetry compilation Forever Spoken © 2008 by the International Poetry Society. Michael’s was named Runner Up in the December 2007 round of the VH1 Song of the Year song and lyric competition for Full Moon Rabbit, a competition that receives hundreds of entries from all over the world.
About the Author: River Michaels is a U.S. Navy Veteran and former information technology instructor. A native Texan, Michael’s holds a Master of Arts from Webster University and a Bachelor of Science from Southern Illinois University. She now resides in Houston, Texas where she is an avid writer and poet. The strongest and most influential has always been and continues to be her late mother who passed away in 2001.
