)-- Chicago-based BCI Aircraft Leasing, Inc. (“BCI”) today announced that operating leases for two Boeing 737-200 aircraft previously on lease to Aloha Airlines have been novated to Aloha Air Cargo.
“We have had a long relationship with Aloha Airlines and we look forward to maintaining our presence in the Islands through this partnership with Aloha Air Cargo,” said Brian Hollnagel, President and CEO of BCI Aircraft Leasing.
The first of the of the Boeing 737-200 aircraft, serial number 23123, belongs to a BCI Aircraft Leasing wholly-owned and managed subsidiary. The second aircraft, serial number 23124, is managed by BCI Aircraft Leasing. According to Brian Hollnagel, the aircraft had been on long term operating lease to Aloha Airlines, which shut down its passenger service at the end of March. Despite the airline’s difficulties, BCI was successful in novating the leases to Aloha Air Cargo, which was acquired by Seattle-based Saltchuk Resources, Inc. in May.
“BCI's team has long proven its ability to manage through airline difficulties, and the Aloha Air Cargo lease novation is another example of this,” Hollnagel said.
BCI Aircraft Leasing, Inc was founded in 1997 and since then has become one of commercial aviation’s leading privately-held operating leasing companies.
