Pittsburgh Native Lands Bureau Chief Position with ABC network News

Pittsburgh, PA, August 13, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Emily Graham, 19, has been announced as bureau chief of ABC News on Campus at Arizona State University in partnership with ABC network News.

In her role as bureau chief, Emily Graham will oversee a staff of students at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications that report on a variety of stories relative to the western United States. These stories will be spread throughout ABC’s multimedia bureaus nationwide and will be seen on multiple platforms such as “Good Morning America,” “World News with Charles Gibson,” ABC News Radio and the web edition of ABCNEWS.com.

With ABC News looking to catch the eye of younger viewers, they partnered with the Cronkite School and four other major collegiate journalism programs to reach this target demographic. The partnership not only helps the bureau chief and staff to gain hands-on experience but also provides staff with the opportunity of network level mentorship.

Upon arriving at Arizona State University just two short years ago, Emily sought out every available opportunity in the fast growing Phoenix metropolitan area to compliment her classroom studies. Emily's polite aggressiveness and strong work ethic have afforded her with the opportunity to work hand in hand with mentors who have helped elevate her strong journalistic skills, reinforcing them with real world experiences that have showed her much about the behind the scenes work of the news business. Exploring the news industry from real world experiences as camera and production crew, assignment editor, radio show host, investigative reporter and international multimedia reporter on a month long project in South Africa sponsored by the Howard G. Buffett Foundation, have given Emily a well rounded news background to prepare her for future assignments and possibilities after her May 2009 graduation from the Cronkite School at Arizona State University.

Growing up in Pittsburgh, Emily spent her time volunteering with Special Olympics, the Carnegie Science Center, WQED and WDUQ. Today she still enjoys visiting Pittsburgh as often as possible to visit her family and friends.
