The Partnership Between Walford and the Dog’s Trust Keeps on Growing

The Dogs Trust near Shrewsbury is a completely new build which opened in July 2011 and houses approximately 120 dogs at any one time. For thirty years the charity that relies on donations from legacies and other fundraising has been helping dogs. They pride themselves on never putting a healthy dog down and last year alone they succeeded in rehoming 1210 dogs. - February 03, 2012

The first of 2012’s Walford lambs born earlier this week offer a sure sign that spring is not far away. Peter Paul, Walford’s new shepherd, has brought forward the first round of lambing to take advantage of favourable market prices for early spring lambs. Walford and North Shropshire College A-Level student Melvyn Yan has today received the prestigious Royal Air Force (RAF) Sixth Form Scholarship Certificate from Flight Lieutenant Chris Wilson. Future Uniformed Service Officers at Walford and North Shropshire College

Uniformed Services Level 2 students have recently returned from a one day study trip to London. Whilst there, they visited the Houses of Parliament as guests of Owen Paterson MP, where they undertook a guided tour of the House of Lords and the House of Commons. BT Managers Inspire College Students

Three members of Staff from British Telecom (BT) in Oswestry were invited into Walford and North Shropshire College to talk to Business and Computing students about some of the opportunities open to them when they finish their courses. Two of the visitors were themselves former Business and Computing students at the College who, on leaving, had gone into BT as apprentices and who have recently been promoted to management positions. Shipley Campus Came to Life

The Shipley Campus of Walford and North Shropshire College threw open its doors to welcome year 11 pupils from local schools to its first Taster Day on 18th of November this year. John Craven and the BBC were at the Walford campus of Walford and North Shropshire College on Friday (23rd Sep) filming a piece for the extremely popular Countryfile programme. Agriculture Students Exceed Marathon Expectations

Walford and North Shropshire College Agriculture students successfully ploughed over 80 hectares in their 24 hour ploughing marathon.
