New Sailing Club is Southwest Florida's Best Getaway

Florida sailors and sailing wanna-bees from Orlando to Miami and Tampa to Marco Island can take a reprieve under sail this winter with little travel time or expense. Offshore Sailing School's newest Sailing Club provides free access to beautiful boats and the freedom to set sail almost anytime at The Pink Shell Resort & Spa on Fort Myers Beach, Florida.

Fort Myers, FL, November 27, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The Club is open to those who don’t yet know how to sail, with a special savings that provides the skills and confidence at a fraction of the cost of regular course tuition. The new Club opens January 1, but reservations are being accepted now.

"Sailing lets you harness the clean, free energy provided by wind," explains Doris Colgate, president and CEO of Offshore Sailing School. "It exercises your brain and body while soaking in the joys of being out on the water. It gives you the freedom to exalt in fresh air as dolphins and manatees play alongside. You’ll reduce your carbon footprint every minute you are under sail!"

The Pink Shell is located between fashionable Naples and laid-back Sanibel and Captiva Islands, nestled in a stunning natural environment at the tip of Estero Island on Fort Myers Beach with sweeping beachfront views and a mile of sugar-white sand beach.

New sailors must take either the Learn to Sail or Performance Sailing course before their first Club sail. The annual membership fee is $395 per person and $595 for couples or families, plus reasonable monthly usage fees. The Learn to Sail or Performance Sailing Course tuition is $590 (55% off) with club membership, and includes Steve Colgate’s Basic Sailing Theory or Performance Sailing textbook, course diploma and logbook, free Colgate Day Sailing or Performance Sailing Certification and more. The Bareboat Cruising Preparation Course, and other select advanced courses, are 50% off regular tuition at any Florida location for club members in good standing.

Club members can spend a night or two at the Pink Shell Beach Resort while sailing on a mini vacation close to home. They can join for a minimum of four months or a full year and share sailing with new friends or reserve the boat for one's own family group.

Sailors are invited to take a test sail to see just how much fun this can be before joining –at just $50 for an hour’s sail – for up to four in a party.
